Phoebe’s Medical Advisory Committee is responsible for the overall coordination of medical care in our health care centers, supervision of members of the medical staff and implementation of medical care policies and procedures.

Its benefits reside mostly in the considerable amount of intellectual professional dialogue on subjects such as how to handle a disease process, manage high-risk medications, and interact with physician specialists. The outcome is usually a formula for all to follow in order to standardize care for the best possible result. The panel also adds checks and balances to our medical decision-making and provides an avenue for problems to be solved.

The committee consists of the medical directors, administrators, and directors of nursing at our four skilled nursing centers. Staff from Phoebe’s pharmacy, therapy, operations and risk management departments also serve on the committee.
